Motorsports author/historian Harold Osmer at the Petersen Automotive Museum
Harold Osmer is the authord of award-winning books on the early fays of Southern California road racing. He'll be discussing the topic March 16 at the new Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, escorting fans back in time when caps worn backwards were the crash helmets and stalwart (very unforgiving) palm trees marked the race course.
Road racing in southern California began on the streets of cities like Santa Monica, Corona, San Diego, and Venice and Osmer's original multimedia presentation will give not only a detailed accounting of the racing events themselves but mix in a bit of geography, local color, rumors, tales, and history as well. And if you've not yet been to the beautiful new Petersen Automotive Museum, you have a true treat coming.
Museum entry (only with ticket voucher via the link below) and the talk are free but the on-site parking is not.
