Panoz DeltaWing Racing Pre-Sebring Test Report

Panoz DeltaWing Racing has every intention of returning to the front-running form it showed at Daytona. Buoyed by the performance, the team has rebounded positively and the DeltaWing coupe will be on track at this week’s test at Sebring International Raceway to prepare for the enduring challenge it faces at the 64th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Drivers Katherine Legge, Sean Rayhall and Andy Meyrick will share the test driving duties and are united in their determination to best prepare the car for a podium result at the upcoming Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. Race preparation will involve vital testing of the setup to ensure reliability and the coupe’s competitiveness continues. Legge, Rayhall and Meyrick will all return in March for the race.

“Looking forward to seeing what improvements we can make at Sebring. The team has done an excellent job of moving forward throughout the project and I have no doubt we will make another positive improvement for the 12-hour race during testing this week.”

Andy Meyrick
“Sebring is my favorite race of the season. I’ve had some great memories at this track and I am determined that this year we will make another. I want to thank the team for their fantastic effort over the last few weeks. We are focusing on the Daytona positives and that we are in a much better position ahead of Sebring than we have ever been in the past.”

Sean Rayhall
“I’m really excited to get back on track with the team at the Sebring test. I would like to thank the team and Dr. Panoz for all the effort put in over the past few weeks. Everyone has been working really hard at the shop to make sure the car is back in perfect condition. I’m ready to get to work and see what we can learn to help us at the 12 Hours of Sebring.”

Tim Keene
“Looking forward to getting back on track and Sebring is a track where we need to improve. Hopefully we can carry the momentum from the positive segments we had in Daytona.”

Panoz DeltaWing Racing
Under the guidance of Managing Partner Don Panoz, Panoz DeltaWing Racing builds and maintains the revolutionary DeltaWing coupe. The radically innovative sports car prototype takes efficiency to a new level, as the DeltaWing® architecture and ‘disruptive cumulative technologies’ vastly reduces overall mass and drag. The result is a race car that is approximately half the weight, half the horsepower and uses half the fuel of its competitors. The unique efficiency approach is changing street-legal vehicles as Panoz works to take the DeltaWing® platform from the racetrack to tomorrow’s roads. The Panoz DeltaWing Racing team operates out of Braselton, Ga.
