IMSA: Von Moltke becomes Audi Brand Ambassador

Dion von Moltke has fortified his relationship with German manufacturer Audi with the addition of a brand ambassador role. The Floridian has been a consistent presence in Audi's R8 LMS racecar for five seasons, had a breakout season in 2015 with Audi customer team Paul Miller Racing in IMSA's GT Daytona category, and had continued representing the manufacturer this year in the new R8 LMS GT3 fielded by Stevenson Motorsports.

Through Audi of America, von Moltke will add to his driving duties with off-track representation for the company.

"It's been the culmination of a lot of hard work over the last four or five years, so to tie in with a manufacturer and represent the best brand in racing in the last 10 or 15 years is amazing," von Moltke (RIGHT) told RACER. "I think about my first time in an Audi in 2012 with Emanuele Pirro, when he'd just become a brand ambassador after retiring from the Le Mans team, and showed me what it could be like in that role – being part of an official relationship with Audi. I definitely wanted that kind of relationship after I experienced it with Emanuele."

Von Moltke anticipates spending more time with new and potential Audi customers to share the brand's racing and performance heritage.

"Audi has the closest ties with its owners," he continued. "I'll be there to represent Audi and inform them of the connection between Audi Sport Customer Racing and street cars, and how the ethos of the brand is so directly related to motorsports. If we want to grow the sport, the place to do it is with new customers who might not know about the racing side of what we do, and I'll get to be a link between both worlds."
