Original Bill Patterson Paintings Auctioned Off For Austin Hatcher Foundation

Continental Tire is kicking off the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with a very special project.

A collection of 13 original paintings, seen in the “Continental Tire Art by Bill Patterson” 2016 calendar, is being auctioned off to help fight pediatric cancer. Continental Tire has partnered with the Austin Hatcher Foundation to auction off the one-of-a-kind works with all proceeds going to the Foundation.

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children younger than 15 years (Stanton & Behrman, 2007). While the five-year survival rate was a mere 4% in the 1960’s (Mannix & Boergers, 2010), today the survival rate is approaching 90% (Askins & Moore, 2008) with 40% of childhood cancer survivors reporting neuropsychological late effects (Krull et. all., 2008). Therefore, families need to prepare for survival, and the challenges that come with it. This is where the Austin Hatcher Foundation helps.

The original works are oil on canvas and measure 24 inches by 36 inches. Bids on the paintings can be submitted online at

www.hatcherfoundation.org/conti

, with the auction running through February 27. These paintings would make an exceptional addition to anyone’s motorsports collection while helping children and families across the U.S.
