GP3: Ferrari's Fuoco to lead Trident assault

Ferrari protege Antonio Fuoco will lead a four-car Trident lineup in GP3 this year alongside Artur Janosz, Sandy Stuvik and Giuliano Alesi, the son of ex-Formula 1 driver Jean.

Fuoco joins Trident after racing for the now-departed Carlin team in his rookie GP3 season in 2015, finishing sixth in the standings with two podium finishes. The 19-year-old Italian tested with Trident in Abu Dhabi in December, setting the best time on the second day.

Janosz stays on with Trident for a second season after coming 14th in the standings last year, and is joined by Sandy Stuvik, who moves over from Status Grand Prix. Janosz and Stuvik were previously team-mates when they finished second and first respectively in Euroformula Open in 2014 with RP Motorsport.

Alesi makes the step up to GP3 from French Formula 4, where he came fourth in his maiden car racing campaign in 2015, scoring three victories.

Trident enjoyed its best GP3 season to date last year, running Luca Ghiotto to second in the drivers' standings and taking the same result in the teams' classification.

"We will be fielding four drivers that can score great results this season," said team boss Maurizio Salvadori. "I am extremely satisfied to announce our full line-up so early as it will enable us to anticipate and improve our preparation. The goal is to remain at the top of the GP3 Series in both the driver and the team standings".
