WEC champion's team makes GT3 move

The team owned by reigning World Endurance Champion Timo Bernhard is moving up to the ADAC GT Masters for 2016.

Team 75 Bernhard, which has competed in the German Carrera Cup for the past three seasons, is graduating to the national GT3 series with a solo Porsche 911 GT3-R for the coming season.

"GT3 racing is the future and represents the logical next step for us as a young team," said Bernhard, who owns the squad together with his father, Rudiger. "I've been with Porsche for 17 years and so am really pleased to have a strong partner at our side to assist us in our endeavours."

Kevin Estre, who joined Porsche's GT roster at the end of last year, is the first confirmed driver for the Team 75 Bernhard entry in the seven-event series.

The Bernhard family squad, which is team managed by former racer Klaus Graf, will also remain in the Carrera Cup in Germany in 2016.
