Motorsport Safety Foundation reports results of open-cockpit safety survey

The Motorsport Safety Foundation has posted the results of its latest survey, which tackled the hot-button topic of open-wheel cockpits and how to improve safety in the wake of recent driver fatalities.

The survey polled fans, drivers and safety workers on the their views of the prospective safety hazards of closed cockpits in traditionally open-cockpit racing. The majority said their primary concern was how cockpit overs might limit the capacity of safety workers to reach injured or incapacited drivers following an accident.
