"Save Miller Motorsports Park" lays out case for sale

Following the District Court ruling last week that invalidated the planned sale of Utah Motorsports Campus, formerly known as Miller Motorsports Park, a website has been established at

http://www.savemmpnow.com/

by supporters of the Tooele, Utah facility to provide a "detailed summary of the situation facing the Tooele County Commissioners" as a result of the judge's decision.

Tooele County had agreed last summer to sell the facility to Mitime Utah Investment LLC, but a competing bidder, Wyoming-based Center Point Management, filed a lawsuit to prevent the sale, claiming that the county had unlawfully rejected its better offer for the property. Judge Robert Adkins ruled in Center Point's favor on Dec. 17.

The site's in-depth analysis of the situation, which can be read on its home page, concludes that neither Center Point (whose written proposal calls for 200 luxury residential homes on the property) nor the county have the necessary expertise to operate a racetrack, and therefore Mitime is "the only viable alternative" for MMP's survival as a racing facility.

Mitime, which expressed "disappointment" at the Court’s ruling, has not yet indicated whether it will appeal the decision, submit a new purchase proposal to the county or walk away from the project altogether. Last week, Alan Wilson, president of Mitime Utah Investment, LLC and Utah Motorsports Campus said: "Mitime Utah Investment, LLC is fully committed to following whatever process that Tooele County deems necessary to complete the sale of the property."
