One killed, one injured in Buttonwillow crash

One person was killed and another injured in a track day crash at California's Buttonwillow Raceway Park on Sunday.

Ivo Tuchi, 45, was apparently instructing the owner of a BMW M3, was killed when the car crashed near the track's finish line. Tuchi was driving at the time.

"He came through the esses... and got two wheels off the ground and corrected a little bit aggressively maybe," track president Les Phillips told BakersfieldNow.com. "[He] went into a long slide and hit the corner station there at the Sunset turn."

The passenger, who has not been identified, was airlifted to Kern Medical Center, however there have been no updates regarding his condition.

Tuchi ran Renner Motorsport, a performance shop that originally focused on European makes before more recently expanding its focus to include Subarus. He is survived by his wife and twin nine-year-old sons.
