Report: Jaguar Land Rover preparing bid for Silverstone
Britain's Financial Times reports that Jaguar Land Rover, the British auto manufacturer that is a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has prepared a bid to purchase Silverstone Circuit, longtime home of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. According to the FT, JLR's plans would include utilizing Silverstone as its headquarters, with an associated business complex and visitor center.
Silverstone's finances have been the subject of speculation for some time, including suggestions that the Northamptonshire track track could activate a break clause in its 17-year deal that would allow it to pull out of hosting the British GP after next year. However,
Silverstone managing director Patrick Allen said in October
that the circuit's contract to host the race until 2026 will be honored.Latest News
