NASCAR: Hamlin undergoes knee surgery

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin underwent a successful knee surgery on Monday afternoon.

Hamlin, who drives the No.11 car, had torn his ACL while playing basketball in September. Despite the injury, the 32-year-old was able to continue racing, and went on to finish ninth in the Chase.

While it's unclear if Hamlin will be in attendance with his champion teammate Kyle Busch for this week's Champion's Week festivities, he is expected to make a full recovery by the time the 2016 NASCAR season gets underway at Daytona in February.
