"Lucas Oil... On the Edge!" series set to return

MAVTV has announced the return of the popular "Lucas Oil... On the Edge!" series. "OTE" aird for 10 seasons and 235 episodes on SPEED before that network was re;aunched as FOX Sports 1. Reruns have been airing on MAVTV and because of the huge support of its loyal fan base, the decision was made to start production on new episodes.

Production began over the summer with events such as Sand Drag Racing, Team Demolition Derby, Mud Bogs, Skid Plate Racing, RV Demolition Derby, Sprint Cars, Midgets, Figure 8's, Motorcycle Flat Track and much, much more.

"When Ken Stout and I came up with the concept 12 years ago, we never dreamed it would still be on television for this long, this strong," said the show's co-creator and executive producer, Steve Grein. "When Forrest Lucas recently said that he personally enjoyed the show and that our viewers are asking for new episodes so lets go back into production, I just smiled from ear to ear and immediately began pre-production on a new season"

Each "Lucas Oil... On the Edge!" episode is a motorsport event that is not normally seen on TV. Some of the shows are lighthearted and some are hard-core, grassroots racing, but all are different from the mainstream type of motorsports on television today.

The new season will start airing on MAVTV on Dec. 5 and air every Saturday thereafter.

"We are already looking at new events for 2016 and the list just continues to grow every day," said Grein.

"OTE" is produced by Lucas Oil Studios in conjunction with MAVTV. The studio will utilize its full arsenal of high definition equipment and award-winning crew. This season will yield 15 episodes and in 2016 there will be at least 26 new episodes. All original shows will air on MAVTV and all archived shows will be available on the new LucasOilRacing.TV app, set to be launched in January 2016.
