WEC: Filming clash forces Dempsey from Bahrain finale

Actor/racer Patrick Dempsey will miss the FIA World Endurance Championship season finale in Bahrain due to filming commitments. The native of Maine is currently shooting "Bridget Jones's Baby" in London and will be replaced by Christian Reid in the No. 77 Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR.

With his full-season teammates Patrick Long and Marco Seefried leading the charge, Dempsey scored his first WEC victory at the recent round in Japan (LEFT), and has been experiencing his most competitive season to date. Dempsey, Long, and Seefried currently hold fourth in the GTE-AM Drivers' championship, but with his absence from the Nov. 19-21 event in Sakhir, Bahrain, the 49-year-old will fall in the final standings.
