Motorsport Safety Foundation launches Open Cockpit Survey

The Motorsport Safety Foundation has posted its latest survey which tackles the hot topic of open-wheel cockpits and how to improve safety in the wake of recent driver fatalities.

The two-week survey, titled "Open vs. Closed Cockpits in Open-Wheel Racing," invites a wide variety of people from the world of motor racing to provide input and detailed answers on a series of questions MSF will review and publish.

"The genesis was the recent incidents in open-wheel racing which started the discussion up again," MSF COO Scot Elkins told RACER. "Like the last survey we produced, we specify who the respondents are: worker, fan, or driver, and get their opinions on the topic. The main takeaway is a general opinion on the topic that we can present to organizers as an independent entity."
