Scuderia Corsa Road Atlanta 4 Hour Report

October 3, 2015 (Braselton, GA.) – With rain falling heavily at Road Atlanta, the pair of Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italias took the green flag for Petit Le Mans with the team’s sights set on the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and North American Endurance Cup championships.

The pair of Scuderia Corsa Ferraris moved through the field during the opening stint of the race, with Jeff Segal at the helm of the no. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia and Daniel Serra driving the no. 64 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia. After the team’s first pit stops, Townsend Bell took over the lead in the GT-Daytona class in the no. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia while Jeff Westphal was in second position in the no. 64 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia. Heavy rain and multiple full-course cautions plagued the opening four hours of the race. At the four hour mark, at which point championship points for the NAEC were awarded, Bell was in third position while Westphal was in fifth position in the NAEC GT-D championship. That result strengthens Scuderia Corsa’s second position in the NAEC, and allows Ferrari to remain in the lead of the NAEC manufacturer’s championship.
