2016 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Car Specs

The initial specifications of the 2016 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car have been released.

After months of thorough testing and ensuing discussions, the specs for the 2016 Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car are coming together. That car will form the basis for not only the Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup but also for the global competitions modeled after it.

While some of the pieces are not yet official because the appropriate documents are awaiting signatures, many of the pieces that enhance the performance and safety of the base 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata are confirmed.

The sealed SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter engine will get a sealed ECU from the UK's General Engine Management Systems, a stainless steel header and exhaust system, Setrab oil cooler and a heavy duty C&R radiator. Other parts of the drivetrain will benefit from Setrab coolers as well.
