TV ratings: Russian GP, Charlotte

Rain delayed NASCAR's Sprint Cup Chase Contender round opener at Charlotte from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon on NBCSN, and produced a 1.44 rating for an average audience of 2.7m, well down from lasty year's 2.9 overnbight rating on ABC. At least next week should bring a boost with a return to the NBC broadcast network for Sunday's race at Kansas.

Although it wasn't affected by the rain, NASCAR's Xfinity Series also took a hit. Its Charlotte race on Friday night drew a 0.59 rating and averaged 962,000 viewers on NBCSN, down 23% from last year on ESPN2.

The Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix on NBCSN scored a 0.32 rating, averaging 354,000 viewers.

GP2 from Russia, airing Sunday night on NBCSN, averaged 75,000 viewers.

Delayed coverage of the FIA World Rallycross round from Turkey averaged 72,000 on beIN Sports on Sunday morning.
