Trans Am presented its 100-mile feature with TA series points leaders Amy Ruman and Paul Fix locked in a battle for the championship. They finished as they started in the standings with Ruman extending her points lead after Fix, who dominated until late in the going, slipped off course just long enough for his rival to squeeze through. Simon Gregg rounded out the podium in third after a late pit stop by Tony Ave.
Gar Robinson drove his Ranch Resort Camaro to victory in TA2 while Steve Streimer won TA3 International with his Lux Performance Dodge Viper and Ernie Francis Jr. was top dog in TA3 American Muscle with his Breathless Performance Camaro. Francis' victory was enough to ensure a second successive championship in his TA3 class. Despite a DNF today Lee Saunders nailed down the TA3 International title with his Landsearch LLC Dodge Viper.
Among the highlights of the SVRA contests were Bruce Hamilton's four victories this weekend. Hamilton prevailed overall in the Saturday and Sunday contests for Groups 1, 3 and 4 with his 1970 Brabham BT 36. He also won the Enduro and the sprint race for Groups 7 and 9, both held on Saturday, in his 2008 Dallara Infinity Indy Lights racer.
Jason Kennedy won both the Saturday and Sunday races for Groups 10 and 11 in his 2006 Corvette Z06. Also, in a rare appearance, SVRA President and CEO Tony Parella found time to compete in the Sunday Group 6 contest, finishing fourth.
