Kubica could step back to WRC2

Robert Kubica has admitted he could step back to WRC2 next season after a difficult 2015 World Rally Championship campaign.

The Polish star, who won the WRC2 crown in 2013, has struggled running his own RK World Rally Team this year and is adamant he will not go into 2016 in the same position.

"At the moment, I don't know anything for next year, but, for sure, there will be some changes," he said. "Before the end of November, I want to know what I am doing next year."

Kubica admitted turning his back on rallying for a return to circuit racing was one possibility, but he still feels he has unfinished business in the WRC.

"It could be a complete change of sport or it could be some changes in the way I am running," he said. "It doesn't make sense to carry on like we are now -- we are not in the position to fight against the other cars, the top drivers and top teams. It's like building a house without the foundations and I am too competitive just to drive around.

"I do this sport because I have the passion, but also because I want to be competitive. It's [the lack of] resources and testing; we have to do it properly. Maybe less rallies with more testing could be possible for next year or going to WRC2 could be an option."

Kubica has endured a disjointed season, starting the year with the A-Style team before parting company with the Italian squad, which forced him to miss this year's Rally Argentina, while he set up his own team. He also missed Rally Australia in preparation for last week's Tour of Corsica, but is confirmed for the last two rallies in Catalunya and Britain.
