MOTOGP: Baz switches to Avintia Ducati for '16
Loris Baz will switch from Forward Racing to the Avintia Ducati team for the 2016 MotoGP season.
World Superbike convert Baz is currently the leading Open class rider in the MotoGP standings, despite missing a race during Forward's troubled period that followed the arrest of team owner Giovanni Cuzari earlier in the summer. He fought for a podium in mixed conditions in the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano earlier this month before finishing a season-best fourth.
Avintia currently runs Hector Barbera and Mike di Meglio in its customer Ducati team.
Forward's future in MotoGP beyond 2015 remains uncertain.
