Jeff Mosing won his first TOTAL Pole Award of the season and second for the No. 56 Murillo Racing Porsche Cayman in Street Tuner (ST) qualifying. Mosing, who won last year at VIR with eventual ST champion Eric Foss, ran a track-record lap of 2:05.324 (93.933 mph).

“My driver coach, Eric Foss, has really been working hard with me,” Mosing said. “I had a few issues with some of the turns, and I was trying to get them all put together in my head. I really wanted us to have a good showing here again to defend what we did here last year in ‘Scrappy,’ our little Porsche Cayman. Hats off to [car owner] Ken Murillo and all the guys. We’ve been struggling with setups with the car pretty much all year, and today they really nailed the setup.”

Justin Piscitell was second, running 2:05.453 (93.836 mph) in the No. 34 Alara Racing Mazda MX-5. Piscitell won his first of four 2015 ST poles at Daytona for Murillo Racing, substituting for Foss. Dylan Murcott was third in ST with a lap of 2:05.714 (93.641 mph) in the No. 18 RS1 Porsche Cayman, followed by Andrie Hartanto, 2:05.811 (93.569 mph) in the No. 81 BimmerWorld Racing BMW 328i.
