Open-wheel and sports car racing ace Derek Hill takes The RACER Channel on an unforgettable ride in the priceless V8-powered Maserati Tipo 151 during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, and while he easily leads the field, Hill still puts on a show as he drifts and slides the stunning Italian machine around the 2.2-mile road course.

Hill's period-correct driving style also paid tribute to the era's legends...while artfully wielding a divine creation valued at more than $2 million.

"Driving the Maserati Tipo 151 at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion is like a homecoming to me," said Hill. "It's a beast of a car and an absolute thrill to drive. At this track I found I could pitch it into a corner, get the tail out and hold a nice subtle drift with the throttle.

"It's not always giving you consistent feedback, so of course, I'm making some abrupt corrections with the steering every now and then to keep it on the right line. The sounds of the engine and feel of acceleration is always very inspiring to drive it hard."
