Jenson Button tipped for "Top Gear" role

Although Jenson Button has not given any indication that he is planning his F1 retirement, the former world champion is rumored to already have his next job lined up. The UK's Daily Mail reports that Button, 35, is in talks with Britain's BBC to be a new co-host of the network's popular motoring show "Top Gear."

"Top Gear" has been on hiatus since the

acrimonious dismissal of presenter Jeremy Clarkson

earlier this year, which was followed by the decision of fellow presenters Richard Hammond and James May to also leave the show.

The BBC refused to comment on the Mail's "speculation" about Button's purported future role with the show. The 2009 world champion has made two previous guest appearances on "Top Gear."
