Eriksson loses GP3 race two podium

Koiranen GP driver Jimmy Eriksson has lost his GP3 podium from race two at the Hungaroring after picking up a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits.

Eriksson, who was embroiled in a battle with his teammate Matt Parry for the majority of the race, left the track at Turns 6 and 7 and gained an advantage over Trident driver Luca Ghiotto according to the stewards enquiry.

The penalty demotes Eriksson to sixth, from what would have been only his second podium appearance of the season, behind ART Grand Prix driver Marvin Kirchhofer and moves team-mate Parry up into the final podium place in third.

Arden International driver Aleksander Bosak and Campos Racing's Samin Gomez also picked up penalties. Bosak was penalized for his collision with Arthur Janosz at Turn 4 and received a 10-second time penalty leaving him last while Gomez picked up a five-place grid penalty for her contact with Nissan protege Jann Mardenborough.
