IMSA: Bentley rules out GTLM; 2017 P2 still possible

Bentley Motorsport Boss Brian Gush and Bentley's board member for Engineering Rolf Frech revealed some of the plans for the marque's still-new motorsport program at the Spa 24 Hours.

Bentley remains very happy with their current GT3 platform, with a gently growing customer base covering off many key markets for the marque. The M Sport team will return to the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2016

18 Continental GT3s have thus far been built – chassis 18 is on display on the roof of the pit building at Spa An entry for the 2015 GT World Cup in Macau is also under discussion for a customer team.

2016 is again set to see the cars entered in a number of as yet unconfirmed standalone GT races, although the potential program to build a GTLM version of the car for IMSA competition has been set aside. Bentley is keeping a close watch on the potential for an IMSA 2017 P2 program with their engine and bodywork, however.
