
UPDATED Ratings: IndyCar Milwaukee, NASCAR Kentucky
The Verizon IndyCar Series appeared to build on the momentum from its controversial yet undeniably thrilling Fontana round with a another audience boost for Sunday afternoon's race from The Milwaukee Mile. NBCSN's live telecast scored a 0.42 overnight household rating, reports ShowBuzzDaily, which is the network's best IndyCar rating to date, with an average audience of 532,000 viewers.
The first NASCAR Sprint Cup race on NBCSN aired on Saturday night from Kentucky, and the event scored a 2.0 overnight rating and an average of 3.2 million viewrs. The overnight rating matches that for last year's Kentucky telecast on TNT and 2015's average on cable, although SportsMediaWatch reports that number is down 17% from 2013's 2.4 Kentucky rating on TNT.
The NHRA Mello-Yello Drag Racing eliminations from Route 66 Raceway scored another big audience on ESPN – an average of 630,000 viewers.
The IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship race from Canadian Tire Motorsports park on Sunday scored an average of 181,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1.
The MotoGP Championship race from Sachsenring averaged 89,000 viewers on FS1.
