Nissan, Mazda Lead Opening CTSC Session

BJ Zacharias and Christian Szymczak led their respective classes in Friday's opening Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge practice at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Zacharias paced Grand Sport (GS) with a lap in the No. 14 Nismo GT Academy of 1:27.548. Szymczak was fastest in Street Tuner (ST) with a lap of 1:32.286 in the No. 34 Alara Racing Mazda MX-5.

The 45-minute session was red-flagged for an incident involving Antony Mantella in the No. 8 Gulf/Spyder/MBRP Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R.

The second 45-minute session will begin at 1:05 p.m. ET. Qualifying begins at 5:20 p.m. ET to set the field for Round 5, which takes the green flag at 1:25 p.m. ET on Saturday. The race will be streamed live on IMSA.com and the IMSA mobile app.
