SRO gets Macau GT World Cup role

The Stephane Ratel Organization, which runs the Blancpain Endurance and Sprint Series, will play a key role in coordinating the inaugural FIA GT World Cup in Macau in November.

SRO has been appointed by the event promoter, the Automobile General Association Macau-China, to help bring a grid together for the event on the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix bill on Nov.19-22. A statement from SRO stated that a priority would be to attract manufacturer entries to meet the FIA and AAMC objective of three Pro class entries per make.

"We are delighted to co-ordinate and work jointly with AAMC in making the inaugural FIA GT World Cup event the success it deserves to be," Ratel said. "It is also an honor and a pleasure for SRO to work on an FIA event once again."

The FIA GT World Cup was confirmed by the March World Motor Sport Council meeting, but no details of the event or the entry requirements had previously been announced.
