WRC: Citroen working to fix Meeke's car after Rally Poland shakedown crash

Kris Meeke will start Rally Poland despite rolling his Citroen DS 3 WRC at shakedown on Thursday morning.

"We have time to complete the work on the car," said a spokesman. "Kris and Paul [Nagle, co-driver] will not attend the ceremonial start with the car, I'm afraid they will be walking! But after that the car will be ready to start the stage.

"There was some damage to the bodyshell only. Nothing else is damaged, the rollcage and the engine and everything else is all fine. We have some work to do now, but it will be OK for Kris."

Rally Poland begins with a 1.55-mile gravel stage around the Mikolajki arena just behind the service park on Thursday evening. Citroen will then have a further 15-minute service on Friday morning to further fettle the DS 3 WRC ahead of a full day of competition with only a remote tire-fitting zone and no midday service.
