UPDATED TV ratings: Fontana, Sonoma

IndyCar's contentious MAVTV 500 at Fontana's Auto Club Speedway Saturday afternoon on NBCSN secured a 0.37 rating, according to ShowBuzzDaily, which is the same as for for the previous oval IndyCar round at Texas. It's also up from a 0.18 rating in 2014 when the race was run at night – and consequently suffered in TV audience due to an extremely late start time for the East Coast. The average audience was given as 512,000, which is the highest of the six races aired to date this season on NBCSN (the Texas race averaged 431,000).

The NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Sonoma marked the end of the FOX Sports family's NASCAR coverage. The road course race scored a 2.4 rating on FOX Sports 1, down 8% from last year (2.6) and down 20% from 2013 (3.0), when they were on TNT, according to SportsMediaWatch. The average audience for the race was 3.723 million viewers.

The IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar race from Watkins Glen had a peak audience of 255,000 viewers for its 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. segment of the six-hour race on FOX Sports 1. The finish on FOX Sports 2 averaged 64,000 viewers.
