Formula E: Turvey partners Piquet for London finale
McLaren Formula 1 test driver Oliver Turvey will join Formula E championship leader Nelson Piquet Jr. at the Campos-run China team for the electric series' London finale.
Turvey will be making his FE debut at the Battersea double-header, fresh from finishing on the LMP2 podium in the Le Mans 24 Hours with Jota Sport last weekend. His main racing program this year is in Super GT with Honda, while his McLaren duties have included the post-Spanish Grand Prix F1 test at Barcelona last month.
The 28-year-old Briton becomes the fourth occupant of China's #88 car in the inaugural FE season. Ho-Pin Tung, Antonio Garcia and Charles Pic have all previously made appearances as Piquet's teammate.
Turvey is the third driver change for Battersea announced so far, following Simona de Silvestro and Sakon Yamamoto's deals with Andretti Autosport and Amlin Aguri, respectively.
Piquet carries a 17-point lead over Lucas di Grassi in the standings heading to London after his win in the preceding round in Moscow and will stay on with the China team for 2015-'16.
