Ex-WRC driver Sohlberg gets RX seat
Sometime works Mitsubishi World Rally Championship driver Kristian Sohlberg will join British team Albatec Racing for a World Rallycross Championship program culminating in the Turkish round. The Finn will warm up for his World Rallycross debut by racing one of the team's Peugeot 208 Supercars in French and British Championship events next month, at Pont de Ruan and Pembrey, respectively.
"I have been trying to get a chance in rallycross for some time and finally it worked," said Sohlberg. "It is something totally new for me, but I know the team is very professional and the Peugeot 208 RX Supercar is very competitive.
"The two events in France and Wales are a build-up for World RX of Turkey where I hope we can achieve a really good result and show what we can do."
Albatec Racing ran team owner Andy Scott and 1997 Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve in World RX last season.
