Corvette Racing teams up with BRM for limited-edition timepiece collection
Bernard Richards Manufacture (BRM) and Corvette Racing are partnering to release a series of limited-edition timepieces. Licensed by General Motors, the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R Racing collection honors an automotive icon, and the bespoke collaboration brings together two uniquely individual companies united by a commitment to the art of motorsports.
BRM’s artisans have translated the racecar’s legacy through handcrafted timepieces, channeling the spirit and aesthetic of Corvette with industry-leading technical precision. The models feature signature elements such as custom-painted hands and dials in classic C7.R yellow; custom-stitched leather bands that mirror racing seatbelts; engraved stems bearing the brand’s unofficial mascot, “Jake;” and additional optimizable options.
Comprised of only 100 numbered timepieces each, the first four series of watches are based on BRM’s V12-44-COR chronograph and the V6-44-COR automatic, and both are available in a combination of yellow/black or black/grey. BRM has also engineered two special editions of the V12-44-COR in recognition of the collection’s debut at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans; the pair of exclusive 24-model, numbered series reflects the team’s dual C7.R track cars.
"My passion for motorsports began at Le Mans more than 40 years ago, and the sound and speed of the Corvette on the straightaway still resonates decades later,” notes BRM’s founder, Bernard Richards. “The experience ignited my love of racing and, ultimately, inspired the foundation of BRM; it’s thrilling to partner with the emblematic brand to craft an equally unforgettable collection.”
“Le Mans is the focal point of the Corvette Racing program,” said Jeff Chew, Manager of Strategic Planning & Operations, Chevrolet Racing. “We are pleased to partner with BRM to create a timepiece to commemorate our participation at Le Mans in 2015 with the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R. Chevrolet’s mission is to produce high-quality vehicles - such as the Corvette brand - just as BRM’s mission is to manufacture first-class timepieces, making this a natural partnership for both groups.”
Frederic Gasser, president of BRM Americas adds, "Racing was built into BRM’s DNA, and it’s an honor to become a part of the Corvette family and to join forces with an organization that’s shaped modern motorsports.”
