Visser loses Spa FR3.5 front row spot

Dutch driver Beitske Visser has lost her front row grid position for Saturday afternoon's Formula Renault 3.5 race, after her AVF car failed post-qualifying technical checks.

Visser had been set to start from her highest FR3.5 grid position of second, but a non-conforming position of the flat-bottomed floor has breached article 19.14 of the sporting regulations.

The #16 car is relegated to the back of the grid, while Nicholas Latifi is promoted to the front row alongside polesitter Matthieu Vaxiviere.

"I didn't do any proper laps in the first run on new tyres, which put more pressure on the second," said Latifi. "Then obviously there was red flags and traffic, but I got a good lap in at the end. I was happy and we're now promoted a position because of Visser's problem."

Strakka driver Tio Ellinas, who provisionally qualified seventh, has lost his fastest lap because of a yellow flag infringement and drops to eighth behind Manor Formula 1 driver Roberto Merhi.
