UPDATE: Still hope for Miller Motorsports Park?

Tooele County Commissioner Shawn Milne told FOX TV's Salt Lake City affiliate that while the County has no desire to take over operations of the park once the Larry H. Miller Group ends its lease of the land, it would be open to working with an outside party interested in buying or operating it.

The Miller Group confirmed earlier this month that it would not renew its lease of the land for the 511-acre complex and will cease operations on Oct. 31.

“We’ve been approached by a number of entities that are interested in the assets,” Milne said. “We will entertain over the next couple of weeks discussions with them to see whose vision aligns most closely with our own.”

The Miller Group will continue running MMP through Oct. 31. Milne said the County hopes to have narrowed down the options to a few finalists by that time.
