IMSA Statement On The Passing Of Denise McCluggage

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 7, 2015) – “Denise McCluggage was an icon of motorsports and automotive journalism,” said IMSA President Scott Atherton. “She was an outstanding race-car driver, and played an instrumental role in the founding of Competition Press, which went on to become Autoweek. She had a lifelong love and appreciation for sports car racing, and was a pioneer for women in racing that impacted nearly every facet of the sport. Her legacy will live on well into the future. On behalf of IMSA, I offer sincere condolences to Denise’s family, friends and colleagues.”
