Loose screw caused Rosenqvist exclusion

A loose screw is to blame for Felix Rosenqvist losing two of his pole positions from this weekend's opening round of the Formula 3 European Championship at Silverstone.

The Swede's Prema Powerteam Dallara-Mercedes was found to contravene bodywork-dimension regulations after the second qualifying session, meaning he loses pole position for races two and three, both of which he will start from 35th and last.

Prema team manager Rene Rosin told AUTOSPORT: "The front bodywork was wider than the regulations allowed. This is because an endplate was bent because a screw was coming loose – it was our silly mistake not to check it between first qualifying and second qualifying."

Rosin explained that the team's oversight meant that Prema fully accepted the blame, which is why it did not appeal the decision.
