Stuvik secures Status GP3 switch

EuroFormula Open champion Sandy Stuvik will move into the GP3 Series for 2015 with Status Grand Prix. The 19-year-old Thai driver dominated the series formerly known as the European F3 Open last season, taking 11 wins from 16 races. He tested GP2 and Formula Renault 3.5 machinery over the winter, but has chosen GP3 for his next move.

"I'm elated to be racing in the GP3 Series this season with Status GP," he said. "It's clear that this is a team that's going above and beyond to ensure that absolutely every tiny detail is perfect.

"After their strong season last year in the series I hope I can learn as much as possible about the car and bring myself up to a competitive speed."

Stuvik completes Status's lineup alongside ex-ART driver Alex Fontana and Formula Renault graduate Seb Morris. The team won races with Richie Stanaway and Nick Yelloly last year, and has also expanded into GP2 for 2015, taking over the former Caterham team.

Stuvik's main 2014 EuroFormula rivals Artur Janosz and Alex Palou are also moving into GP3 this year, with Trident and Campos, respectively.
