Patrick's crew warned by NASCAR
NASCAR has issued a written warning to Danica Patrick's Stewart-Haas Racing crew over a technical infringement at Daytona.
An irregularity with a heat shield panel on Patrick's Chevrolet was discovered during the opening day inspection ahead of the Unlimited and Daytona 500 week. A NASCAR statement said the warning had been given over "actions detrimental to stock car racing."
The infringement detected was an "unapproved left-side driver heat shield; the outer exterior exhaust heat shield panel must follow the horizontal surface plane of the left-side floorboard forward section to the bottom edge of the left-side toe board."
Patrick finished 21st in the Daytona 500, having been involved in crashes in both practice and her Duel qualifying race.
