Ex-Ferrari junior joins Euro F3 field

Former Ferrari junior driver Brandon Maisano will step up to the Formula 3 European championship with Prema Powerteam in 2015. The 21-year-old drove for the team in Italian F3 in 2012, and after being unable to race full-time in 2013 he returned to Prema in Italian F4 last year.

"I am very happy for the opportunity to participate in the F3 European championship," said Maisano, who finished second to fellow Prema F3 driver Lance Stroll in the New Zealand-based Toyota Racing Series this winter. "I am aware this will be a difficult and decisive step in my career but I will do my best to be in the top positions as often as possible."

Team boss Rene Rosin added: "We know Brandon really well, and we felt he deserved a chance to debut in a top class international environment like F3.

"In 2013 he did not have many chances, but once back with us he humbly managed to kick-start his career again."
