Hunter-Reay's "Yellow Party" set for three IndyCar events

Indianapolis 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay and his charity Racing for Cancer have announced today that the organization’s iconic fundraising event, The Yellow Party, will return in 2015 with three events in key racing markets.

Racing for Cancer’s 2015 fundraising season will kick off in St. Petersburg, Fla. on March 27 alongside the Verizon IndyCar Series season opener. The second stop will be Indianapolis on May 21, followed by a season-closing event in Napa, Calif., in late August in conjunction with The Michael Andretti Foundation.

The Hunter-Reays look forward to continuing their campaign to spread awareness for early detection and finding a cure for the disease that affects 28-million people worldwide. ]

“I couldn’t be happier to announce our 2015 Yellow Party dates,” said Ryan Hunter-Reay, “our team at Racing for Cancer, along with AutoNation, has worked so hard to every day bring us one step closer to a cancer free world. I hope to see all of our supporters a one of the three Yellow Parties this season.”

The non-profit organization founded with the goal of beating cancer enjoyed a successful 2014 as it exceeded many of its goals. Racing for Cancer’s greatest milestone to date came last November, where Hunter-Reay and his family had the honor of presenting the Cleveland Clinic Maroone Cancer Center with $2.5 million. The generous donation, made possible by top sponsor AutoNation and donors nationwide, took just four short years of fundraising and will name the Center’s lobby for Hunter-Reay’s late mother, a cancer victim, Lydia Hunter-Reay.
