Latifi completes FR3.5 switch

Formula Renault 3.5 podium finisher Nicholas Latifi will race full-time in the series this year with Arden Motorsport.

The Canadian contested the final three rounds of the 2014 FR3.5 campaign alongside his season in the Formula 3 European championship, choosing to contest the FR3.5 finale at Jerez over the last F3 round at Hockenheim on the same weekend. That decision paid off, as with Tech 1 Racing he took a podium finish in Spain.

He then tested with Arden, Lotus and Strakka after the season had finished, setting the second-fastest time at Jerez for Lotus and leading the way for Arden at Aragon.

"From the moment I started testing with Arden in post-season, the team and I worked very well together," said Latifi, who finished 10th in European F3 last year. "I am confident we will be in a position to fight for the championship right from the start, and I can't wait for the season to begin."

Team boss Garry Horner added: "We are delighted to have Nicholas with us for the 2015 season. During testing last year we were impressed with his mature manner and his analytical instincts in the engineering of the car."
