IndyCar: Government releases funds to Brasilia circuit

Two losses came when the local government cancelled the Verizon IndyCar Series opener in Brasilia, Brazil, on March 8: The series lost its prized "international" start to the championship, and the Autodromo Internacional Nelson Piquet was rendered unusable after it was left partially repaved (ABOVE, photo courtesy of NZRConsulting) when funds were cut off by Terracap, the local federal authority.

The IndyCar race is still off, but Terracap has now released approximately $7 million to complete the track surface overhaul. Once the project is finished, the circuit can continue to operate normally and host local and domestic racing series.
