Comprent Fielding Strong Three-Car Attack In Title Quest
Subtitle:Bullock, Alexander, Shoff To Drive For Standout Georgia Team
ATHENS, Ga. (Jan. 26, 2015) -- Comprent Motor Sports is pleased to announce the addition of drivers Tony Bullock and Lee Alexander to the team. Bullock and Alexander will join returning driver Darryl Shoff in the assault on the 2015 Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda championship.
This marks the seventh season of competition in Prototype Lites for Shoff and his fourth with Athens, Georgia-based Comprent Motor Sports. With a return to some of his favorite tracks, including Watkins Glen and Road America, Shoff is intent on bringing his momentum from 2014 head-on in to the 2015 season.
Alexander joins the team as a returning competitor in the series and knows what it takes to get on the podium. He joined the series in 2010 in the L2 class, seeing multiple podium finishes and clinching second place in the Drivers' Championship. He focused on SCCA National competition the next three years, earning three divisional titles and the coveted National Championship in the CSR class in 2013. Alexander moved in 2014 to the L1 class in the Prototype Lites Championship after taking delivery of a brand-new Elan DP02 chassis. Alexander is looking forward to a full season run in 2015.
Bullock comes to Comprent with a wealth of prototype experience gained in a short amount of time. He started his racing career in 2012 and has seen his resume grow as quickly as his speed on track. Bullock began racing in the Radical Cup and quickly earned Rookie Championship honors in 2012 and the SR3 Series championship in 2013.
Last season Bullock moved to the Prototype Lites championship in the L1 division, where he was immediately vying for top honors. His breakthrough first career win came in June at Kansas, and Bullock is intent on tasting champagne from the top step more times in 2015.
With the 2015 season quickly approaching, Comprent team owner Kevin Kloepfer expressed his thoughts on the coming season: “Our team is very excited with the driver additions for the Prototype Lites program. Tony, Lee and Darryl will put us in a great position to compete for the 2015 Driver and Team championships.”
Comprent Motor Sports' 2015 Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda season begins March 18–20 at Sebring International Raceway, where the team will take part in the prestigious Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida.
Comprent would like to wish Andrew Novich, one of the the team's Lites drivers in 2014, the best of luck as he steps up to the Prototype Challenge class in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports for the 2015 racing season. Novich was part of the winning team in the PC class Jan. 24-25 in the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
