Johnson Continues Lead In GS And Piscitell Fastest In ST


Billy Johnson led the way for the second straight day as Ford Mustang drivers swept the top five positions in Saturday afternoon Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge practice at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway.
Johnson ran a lap of 1:56.513 in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302R co-driven by Scott Maxwell. On Friday, Johnson set an unofficial Grand Sport (GS) track record with a lap of 1:55.794.
Mike McGovern – fastest in the opening session on both Friday and Saturday, was second in the No. 2 Jim Click Racing Ford Mustang 302R, 1:56.808, followed by the Mustangs of Bryan Ortiz (1:56.977 in the No. 00 Zero Zero Racing) and Nick Galante (1:57.067 in the No. 10 Racers Edge/Gary Yeomans Ford), and Jade Buford (1:57.129 in the No. 158 Multimatic Motorsports/Miller Racing).
Justin Piscitell was fastest in Street Tuner (ST), running 2:05.416 in the No. 56 Murillo Racing/Mosing Motorcars Porsche Cayman, followed by Andrie Hartanto, who ran 2:05.728 in the No. 81 BimmerWorld BMW 328i.
