Ford Mustang Of Mike McGovern Quickest In GS During Third Practice
Subtitle:Eric Foss Sets Fastest ST Time In Porsche Cayman
Picking up where he left off on Friday morning, Jim Click Racing led Saturday morning’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Roar Before the Rolex 24 practice at Daytona International Speedway.
Mike McGovern led the one-hour session with a lap of 1:56.810 in the No. 2 Jim Click Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302R.
“It’s always nice when you’re on the top of the leader board,” McGovern said. “Obviously, the car is working real well. The team is doing a great job. Everyone here has a lot of experience, and it’s awesome to work with them.”
Billy Johnson, fastest of the day in Friday’s afternoon session, was second with a lap of 1:56.885 in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302R.
Eric Foss, 2014 Daytona BMW Performance 200 winner and defending Street Tuner (ST) champion, led the class with a lap of 2:05.278 in the No. 56 Murillo Racing/Mosing Motorcars Porsche Cayman. James Clay was second, running 2:06.129 in the No. 84 BimmerWorld BMW 128i.
Saturday’s Continental Tire Challenge activity concludes with a one-hour afternoon session beginning at 2:55 p.m.
