Ricky Johnson tops qualifying for Red Bull Frozen Rush

The qualifying round of Red Bull Frozen Rush went down this morning to determine the starting match-ups for the final, and it was Ricky Johnson (ABOVE, photo by Garth Milan, Red Bull Content Pool), who charged through for the best time of the day. Qualifying was conducted with only one truck on the track at a time, and each truck immediately returned to the pits so the crews could do some fine-tuning prep.

This unique event takes off-road truck racing out of the dirt and desert and drops it in the snowy mountains of Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine.  Nine of the world’s top drivers will face off head-to-head in their 900 horsepower Pro 4 off-road trucks.  Competitors in 2015 include Red Bull Frozen Rush 2014 Champion Ricky Johnson along with returning competitors Bryce Menzies, Scott Douglas, Todd LeDuce, Rob MacCachren, and Carl Renezeder. Newcomers to the snow are Brian Deegan, RJ Anderson and Chad Hord.

Red Bull Frozen Rush will be available for the world to watch in real time today through Red Bull TV at RedBull.com/frozenrush. Fans can watch all the action live starting at 12:30 pm ET on Friday, January 9.
