Numbers show significant audience growth for RACER.com in 2014

The numbers are in for 2014, and they demonstrate it to have been another year of strong growth for RACER.com. Audience expansion was impressive in all areas — on Google Analytics we saw the following growth in 2014 over 2013:

  • Page Views: 82%
  • Sessions: 71%
  • Unique users: 32%

Our biggest month was October with the following stats:

  • Page Views: 2,315,478
  • Sessions: 917,649
  • Unique users: 310,902

RACER.com readers are primarily from the USA and Canada, with 87% of user sessions from North America. The significant audience engagement in our content is also evident from the following stats:

  • Average session time: 3:44
  • Percentage of new visitors: 26.53%
  • Bounce rate: 49.20%
  • Page views per unique visitor: 10.27
  • Session per unique visitor: 3.80

Also of note was the growth of mobile usage of the site following our switch to a reactive platform that is more mobile friendly than our previous edition. Mobile users accounted for 40% of site users in 2014, up from 27% the year before.

We've also been seen steady growth in our social media engagement, with 94,121 "likes" on Facebook and 21,700 followers on
