Chris Dyson set for Chili Bowl

Sports car racer and team owner Chris Dyson is set to branch out into a very different type of racing at the upcoming Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.

"Next week I will be competing at the Chili Bowl Nationals with my good friend Cory Kruseman's Lucas Oil team," Dyson confirmed. "Here (ABOVE)'s one of the team's midgets ready to go at their shop in Ventura, Calif. Should be an amazing event and an action-packed week of racing.

Dyson will drive the team's No. 12 entry in the event, set for Jan. 13-17 at Tulsa Expo Raceway – a quarter-mile clay oval inside the River Spirit Expo Center at Expo Square in Tulsa, Okla.

The two have been friends since Dyson took part in Kruseman's sprint and midget car school in Ventura, Calif., as profiled in the September 2013 issue of RACER magazine.
