Formula E: Legge out, Duran in for Uruguay
Mexico's Salvador Duran has replaced Katherine Legge on the Amlin Aguri Formula E team for this Saturday's third round of the series in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Duran, a veteran of A1GP, Formula Renault 3.5 and British F3, joins Antonio Felix da Costa on the team.
“I’m delighted with the opportunity to join the Amlin Aguri team and am very grateful to embark on this new venture with an exciting new team in a brand-new sport," said Duran. "This innovative championship signals a new era for motorsport and I’m looking forward to getting involved. I am a big fan of both clean energy and this new electric technology and I believe innovation from this series will help develop transport solutions that will make a big difference to the lives of people right across Latin America and the world."
Team chairman Aguri Suzuki added: “Salvador is an experienced and talented driver and we’re pleased to have him on the team now that we are moving to the Americas. Salvador has shown his speed in previous one-make series like Formula Renault 3.5 and A1GP, so his knowledge will push the team further.”
The Uraguay race will be conducted on a new street circuit running along the beach front in Punta del Este.
